Acquisition Solutions & Share Expertise With Industry on Competing For Performance-Based Federal Contracts

Industry Needs to Change the Way it Does Business with Government
   

McLean, Virginia (May 5, 2003) -Acquisition Solutions, Inc., the federal government's choice for training on how to implement performance-based acquisitions, in cooperation with (), the strategic, management and financial solutions provider for emerging, middle market and technology companies, will present a two-day intensive training program for businesses wanting to compete for Federal government contracts.  The training program, entitled "Acquisition Solutions' Seven Steps to Performance-Based Acquisition:  Using a SOO(TM) for Industry," will provide industry with a roadmap for succeeding in the new performance-based government environment.

Leading the seven steps course on May 13-14, 2003, are Steve Meltzer and Pam Fenrich, who currently provide professional consulting services to companies doing business with the Federal government.  Steve retired from the government in 1997, following service as senior project director at the U.S. Air Force Computer Acquisition Center and as founder of the General Services Administration's (GSA) Federal Computer Acquisition Center.  He taught at the National Defense University and in GSA's Trial Boss Program.  Steve was awarded Federal Computer Week's prestigious FED 100 Award.

Pam previously served in key executive positions with EDS and SAIC.  Her extensive corporate experience includes proposal development, teaming, market research, program management and financial management.  Pam served as capture manager and later as Chief Financial Officer for the Navy Marine Corps Internet (NMCI) global information technology management program.  She is an expert on leading acquisition practices and their implementation.

The two-day intensive training program, to be held in the McLean, Virginia, offices of event host, Holland & Knight, LLP, will explore performance-based acquisition processes being utilized by leading government agencies, and the steps companies must take to compete and win in that market.  Key topics include participating in market research, responding to statements of objectives, conducting due diligence and partnering, post award, in the performance-based environment.  The course will also focus on performance measurement, metrics and incentives from both a government and industry perspective.  More information can be found at www.hksbs.com.
