Principals To Headline Grant Thornton Executives Roundtable On "Fueling Organic Growth"

McLean, Virginia (February 2, 2004) - (), the strategic, management and financial solutions provider for emerging, middle market and technology companies, has been asked by Grant Thornton to headline a Government Contractor Roundtable focusing on "Fueling Organic Growth for Government Contractors." executives Gary R. Nelson and William D. Howe will share best practices and lessons learned in successfully growing companies into profitable ventures.

The Government Contractor Roundtable for senior executives will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2004, from 8:00-10:00 a.m. The presentation by the government contractor team will be in the Fairfax Room of the Tower Club located at 8000 Towers Crescent Drive, Suite 1700, in McLean, Virginia. The presentation will focus on successful strategies that leading government contractors have employed to grow and attain profitability. Dr. Nelson and Mr. Howe will highlight the "10 Ways to Turbocharge Your Business" that will successfully implement business development programs that return winning results. They will focus on the benefits of shifting the corporate culture to strengthen the entrepreneurial spirit to enhance the company's position internally and externally. Attendees will also learn the importance of building a solid case for being a strong competitor in terms of value and brand instead of price.

Dr. Nelson has more than 25 years of experience in government and technology services. He helped lead SRA International, Inc., from $3 million in revenues to $300+ million as head of business development and corporate ventures, retiring as Vice Chairman. Prior to SRA, he was a charter member of the Senior Executive Service of the federal government, serving as Associate Director of the Office of Personnel Management responsible for civil service pay, retirement and insurance programs, and as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense. Dr. Nelson was also an economist with the Congressional Budget Office, Rand and the Institute for Defense Analyses. He earned his BA in mathematics from Duke and a PhD in economics from Rice University.

Mr. Howe has more than 20 years of corporate and consulting experience, with a focus in marketing, brand building and general management. He has been a corporate officer at Pillsbury and Bell Atlantic; served as Chairman or Chief Executive Officer of several smaller, high-growth companies; and, provided consulting services to a variety of clients both in the U.S. and internationally. The new businesses he has launched and the failing ones that he turned around have gone on to generate more than $2 billion in annual revenues. Mr. Howe received a BA in English from Hobart College and an MBA from the Wharton Graduate School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
